Grammy-winning rapper T.I. recently shared his stance toward popular social networking application Twitter and admitted he hopes to tweet more throughout the rest of 2011.
While saying he hopes to tweet more frequently, Tip promised not to become a Twitter addict.
"You know what, I just, I have tweeted for the first time yesterday," T.I. said in an interview a few days ago. "That's one of my plans for this year, man, to be more hands on with the online, social media process. Not to say that I will be a full time tweeter but from time to time, I will update the people." Last year, it was revealed his Atlantic Records label were primarily responsible for the Twitter account.
There was initially some confusion about the authenticity of the account @Tip upon its launch on Monday (March 1). Rap-Up.com spoke with a rep for the "Whatever U Like" hitmaker, who clarified that the verified account was set up by his label as a promotional tool, although it may not be used frequently by Tip himself. "He's not into Twitter," says his spokesman, "but it's what we use to alert people." (Rap-Up)
Months prior, Tip explained his disinterest in keeping up with a Twitter page.
"I'm not a computer guy, don't do it," Tip explained in a video. "I'm old school. Eh man, it's not my style, not my swag. I'm an old fashioned type of dude, I'll write you a letter and hand 'em to some pigeons and let 'em fly to you. Put a letter in the box and let it float to your side of the country. I ain't on the computer sh*t, that ain't me...Not for me, not for me. No offense to those that do it, Twit on playa. People got 'The King' baby, just not on Twitter." (ATL Hustlers)
